Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI’s Investor Relations team is responsible for communicating the firm’s financial performance and strategy to shareholders and prospective investors and sell-side research analysts who evaluate the company, while maintaining an effective feedback loop with senior management and the Board. The Senior Associate/VP will provide analysis, insights and support to help drive our ongoing investor relations programs and coordinate and drive information sharing between Investor Relations and the business units, FP&A, Accounting and Legal and other teams to facilitate investor communications and participate in developing and enhancing our IR programs, analysis and reporting and execution of key investor events such as roadshows, conferences, Investor Days.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support IR team in quarterly earnings process by collaborating with internal business and accounting teams to gather information, data and support for drafting press release, earnings presentation, call script and Q&A.
  • Assist in proactively responding to investor and analyst inquiries and collecting investor feedback to apprise management
  • Originate content and disseminate the IR newsletter to shareholder and analyst subscribers
  • Build and maintain AI bots, Claude artifacts, Custom GPTs and Power BI Dashboards for core IR workflows including the Q&A, consensus, disclosures and investor CRM
  • Maintain management and IR scorecard on CRM and using AI tools
  • Play critical role in analyzing sell-side consensus versus forecast and operating plans including maintenance of the consensus summary on Power BI Dashboard. Develop strong relationships with sell side analysts and associates in securing and maintaining timely consensus estimates. Flag discrepancies from guidance and plan with FP&A and IR teams
  • Perform research on existing and prospective shareholder base, prepare briefing materials, tearsheets and profiles of investor contacts, collaborating with external shareholder market intelligence vendors.
  • Maintain and log shareholder interactions in third party CRM platform.
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of presentations for investor events including conferences, roadshows, and 1x1 calls, and for Board of Directors and Annual General Meeting
  • Develop and manage calendars and working timelines for earnings and marketing events including non-deal roadshows, conferences, investor day and other events
  • Actively monitor and maintain consensus model in collaboration with third-party vendor. Help identify analyst model disconnects and variance versus guidance and long-term targets
  • Build and maintain internal financial dashboard containing KPIs and quarterly records
  • Develop strong working relationships with Controllers, Legal and other reviewers in the tie out process, maintain robust internal controls and support
  • Partner with FP&A and Controllers to pull relevant financial information requested by management and IR team using tools including but not limited to Power BI, Qlik, Salesforce
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and research as needed

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 3-5 years of experience in highly analytical financial roles including investor relations, FD, FP&A, public accounting, equity research, etc. Institutional familiarity and built in relationships across MSCI’s Finance and Client Coverage colleagues is ideal
  • Strong sense of ethics and integrity. U.S. SEC Regulation Fair Disclosure training will be required
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking skills, and presentation skills, often in self-directed capacities, while effectively collaborating with other teams (FP&A, FDs, Controllers, Legal, etc)
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Pivot table, VLookup, Macros building and excel shortcut familiarity ideal.
  • Strong interest in emerging AI tools in alignment with MSCI condition of employment, as well as third party software platforms such as Businesswire, Workiva, Factset, Q4/Virtua, S&P and Nasdaq
  • Experience working within an international and multicultural environment and operating across multiple time zones
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills, and time management skills with attention to detail
