Your Team Responsibilities

Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the Data platform, a business-critical component that powers MSCI’s S&C offerings . We manage the end-to-end lifecycle of  ESG data—from ingestion, transformation, and scoring, to final delivery to internal consumers and external clients.

Key responsibilities of the team include:

Designing scalable data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and BigQuery.
Supporting regulatory-compliant ESG scoring and reporting logic.
Partnering with ESG Research and Index teams to translate methodology changes into platform features.
Ensuring data quality, platform stability, and SLA adherence.
Driving automation and modernization across the ESG data ecosystem.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

Define and execute enterprise data and AI pipelines/workflows aligned with business objectives, leveraging PySpark, Databricks, BigQuery, and AI-driven automation frameworks.

 

Design, maintain, and optimize scalable distributed data pipelines, lakehouses, and real-time processing systems for S&C and fund-related datasets.

Perform complex SQL-based transformations, manage data models supporting scoring, audit, delivery, and ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards.

Architect and deploy AI, RAG, and Agentic AI/multi-agent solutions to enhance analytics, automation, and operational efficiency across business functions.

Analyze data, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and lead incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of platform anomalies.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, automation.

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing data engineering and AI teams while driving platform scalability, quality monitoring, and operational excellence.

Document workflows, scoring logic, AI processes, and data flows to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and knowledge sharing across teams.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Strong data engineering and AI skills to investigate anomalies, validate scoring logic, and derive actionable insights from ESG fund data using advanced analytics and automation techniques.
  • Exposure to ESG concepts and financial products such as mutual funds, ETFs, and indices, with the ability to apply domain knowledge to scalable data and AI solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex business rules into technical logic, validation frameworks, and AI-driven quality monitoring mechanisms.
  • Experience in designing and delivering AI-driven solutions with thoughtful architecture focused on scalability, performance, governance, and business impact.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with expertise in debugging, incident triage, root cause analysis, and performance optimization across distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and proactive with strong ownership of critical workflows, delivery timelines, automation initiatives, and continuous platform improvements.
