Your Team Responsibilities

Analytics Intern will be responsible for supporting a suite of MSCI Analytics (with a focus on Barra, RiskMetrics products). This will involve working with projects that help explaining risk and pricing models applied to multi asset class portfolios and partnering with the consultant team to provide expertise in client engagements and pre-sales activities. The individual will be responsible or supporting clients to use MSCI Analytics for compliance with regulation such as FRTB and UCITS.

Successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of market risk measurement and management, pricing and valuation of asset types (including equity, fixed income, commodities, and derivatives), highly quantitative skills and an ability to guide institutional clients to better use our products for assessing risks and making investment decisions. The successful candidate must be adaptable, able to lead efforts to solve clients’ problems.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships within the analytics client base; implement strategic plans to ensure client retention
  • Proactively engage with clients and provide Best Practices guidance on risk measurement, risk management, pricing models using Barra or RiskMetrics products as well as guidance on regulation such as FRTB, PRIIPS and UCITS.
  • Provide programming support to highly sophisticated and quantitative clients using Barra and/or RiskMetrics products.
  • Identify opportunities to increase client usage of our products and identify new users. Work closely with the sales team on potential sales opportunities. Assist in campaigns on new product placement.
  • Proactively engage with clients to keep them informed of our product roadmap with a view on how our development efforts will help them achieve their business goals; proactively solicit client feedback regarding future product development
  • Work with internal functional teams to ensure that all clients requests / inquiries are managed appropriately
  • Respond to detailed client enquiries about methodologies and analytics, hold advanced client trainings / workshops; present in seminars
  • Maintain and communicate accurate records regarding client interaction activities

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Strong experience in  a quantitative function and excellent analytical skills is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and communicate effectively.
  • Confidence with explaining technical topics to audiences in a succinct and professional manner
  • Experience with modelling structured products using Monte Carlo or closed-form techniques, e.g., accumulator strips, triple binary options, absolute return barrier notes, convertible target redemption forwards is a plus
  • Extensive experience pricing of different instrument type in asset classes such as fixed income, equities, commodities, and credit markets is a plus
  • Experience with or any object-oriented computing language is a plus.
  • Experience with numerical computing languages (e.g. R) is a plus
