Your Team Responsibilities

Our team is responsible for the successful execution of MSCI’s Index operating plan, as well as the delivery of One MSCI product launches. We serve as the driving force behind key initiatives, taking ownership of projects and representing senior leadership’s vision as if they were directly present.

We lead multiple initiatives in parallel, working closely and collaboratively across functions to ensure high-quality and timely delivery. Our role requires us to step in where needed to address gaps and prevent projects from derailing, while also ensuring those gaps are sustainably resolved for future initiatives.

We proactively anticipate potential obstacles and take action early to mitigate risks before they impact progress. When unexpected challenges arise, we quickly bring together the right stakeholders and decision-makers to realign, resolve issues, and keep projects on track.

Through strong ownership, foresight, and cross-functional collaboration, our team ensures the successful delivery of strategic priorities and drives impact across the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Vice President, you will take on a leadership role in driving the successful execution of MSCI’s index initiatives, operating at the intersection of product strategy and delivery. In addition to core responsibilities, you will be expected to engage in complex, high-impact projects that require a higher level of expertise, judgment, and strategic thinking.

Your key responsibilities include interpreting requirements from senior Index Product leaders and translating them into clear, actionable business requirements for Program Managers to effectively scope product and project efforts. You will serve as a critical bridge between strategic vision and execution, ensuring alignment across leadership and delivery teams.

You will support and help shape product strategy while leading cross-functional coordination across multiple initiatives. This includes overseeing index-related efforts such as new product launches and client-driven enhancements, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on time, and in line with strategic priorities.

Given the seniority of the role, you will proactively engage with senior stakeholders to facilitate trade-off discussions and enable timely decision-making in line with Senior Index Product Leadership guidance. You will play a key role in surfacing priorities, aligning stakeholders, and accelerating reprioritization conversations when needed, ensuring resources remain focused on the firm’s most critical objectives.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 8 to 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong leadership and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Highly proactive communicator; regularly shares updates, risks, and key decisions with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and competing priorities.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges early and take action to mitigate risks before impacting delivery.
  • Track record of maintaining momentum across projects and driving consistent execution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira to manage work, track priorities, and ensure visibility across tasks and progress.
  • Advanced proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) as a core part of daily workflows.
  • Experience building scalable ways of working, including developing a “digital version” of yourself to significantly increase efficiency, throughput, and impact.
