Your Team Responsibilities

Analytics Consultants act as trusted advisors to our clients and have responsibility for managing the associated client relationships. Consultants look to develop deep linkages with our clients and help clients make best usage of our products in the context of their investment or risk process and their business goals.

The individual will be responsible for supporting a suite of MSCI Analytics (with focus on Broker Deals and Banks regulatory market risk use-cases such as SFC License 11, Basel 2.5 IMM & FRTB, as well as Hedge Fund middle office market risks functions. This role can also potentially expand to buy-side Multi Asset Class and Equity Factor Models coverage). This will involve sharing best practices, explaining risk and pricing models applied to multi asset class portfolios and partnering with the sales team to provide expertise in client engagements, cancel mitigation and up sell activities. The individual will be responsible or supporting clients to use MSCI Analytics for various use cases.

Successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of portfolio construction, exposure management, pricing and valuation of asset types (including cash equity, fixed income, commodities, and derivatives), highly quantitative skills and an ability to guide institutional clients to better use our products for assessing risks and making investment decisions. The successful candidate must be adaptable, able to lead efforts to solve clients’ problems.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships within the analytics clients and implement strategic plans to ensure client retention

  • Be a subject matter expert on all aspects of our products and methodologies, and be able to answer detailed client inquiries surrounding valuation, risk sensitivity, distributional risk measures and stress testing
  • Identify opportunities to increase client usage of our products and identify new users. Work closely with the sales team on potential sales opportunities. Assist in campaigns on new product placement.
  • Proactively engage with clients to keep them informed of our product roadmap with a view on how our development efforts will help them achieve their business goals; proactively solicit client feedback regarding future product development
  • Work with internal functional teams to ensure that all clients requests / inquiries are managed appropriately
  • Respond to detailed client enquiries about methodologies and analytics, hold advanced client trainings / workshops; present in seminars
  • Maintain and communicate accurate records regarding client interaction activities

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 5 years + experience in risk management/ analytics or quantitative function, sell side market risk function experience 
  • Experience with Banking or Broker Dealer risk analytics regulatory usecase in Hong Kong 
  • Strong understanding of the global equity and fixed income markets’ traded instruments, including over-the-counter securities and derivatives and exotic securities
  • Experienced in risk management or quantitative function with excellent analytical skills and understanding of / experience dealing with major international institutions including Banks, Hedge Funds, Broker Dealers, Asset Managers

  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills, including the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and communicate effectively.

  • Confidence with explaining technical topics to audiences in a succinct and professional manner

  • Previous experience with RiskMetrics/ Barra software is highly desirable.

  • Experience with coding in R, Python is a plus
