Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Indexed Investments & Solutions team is part of OneMSCI coverage team with primary objective to provide clarity on the investable products (primarily ETFs & Passive Funds) linked to the MSCI Index ecosystem including insights on index construction methodologies along with detailed analysis on Global Markets. The team also develops, analyses and commercialises macro related themes by helping clients to identify suitable MSCI linked products to express their views on a portfolio level but also better understand explicit and implicit dependencies.

Further, the team is also responsible for the development of new investable strategies which are based on best practices and innovation. We deploy new data signals and analytical models for prototyping investable indexed strategies prior to production.

 

The appropriate candidate will be asked to primarily work with Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Asset Managers in the DACH region with main focus on promoting MSCI’s IP and ultimately provide transparency on the indexes tracked by the corresponding ETFs. The candidate will be asked to interact with CIOs, Portfolio Managers, Fund Selectors, Portfolio Construction and Quant/Research & Strategy Teams while also be covering a wide spectrum of indexes across Equity and Fixed income (E.g. Sector, Factor, Emerging Markets, Sustainable indexes) but also multi-asset class indexed strategies. Part of the role would require a strong relationship management and part of the role would be focus on developing technical expertise around MSCU’s investment capabilities and innovation. On top, the successful candidate would need to need to build solid relationships with MSCI strategic ETF partners and work with the respective Sales and Strategy teams to jointly promote MSCI linked ETFs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Promote MSCI-linked ETFs and support the growth of index-based investment adoption

  • Act as an investment specialist, engaging clients on portfolio construction, market themes, and investment implementation

  • Build and manage senior client relationships across Swiss Wealth Managers, Private Banks, and Asset Managers

  • Prototype and explain indexed investment strategies across equities, fixed income, ESG, factors, and multi-asset

  • Collaborate closely with internal research, strategy, product, and sales teams to deliver consistent investment messaging

  • Contribute to proprietary research, investment insights, and thematic content shared across regions

  • Support the Index Sales team with market insights, use cases, and client-driven feedback

  • Promote the OneMSCI agenda by leveraging expertise across index analytics, data, products, and portfolio implementation

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Minimum 7 years of experience within Asset Management or Private Banking, with exposure to investment strategy, portfolio construction, research, or client portfolio management

  • Professional background as a Portfolio Manager, Fund Selector, Strategist, or within a CIO / Portfolio Construction function strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of capital markets, investment vehicles (ETFs, mutual funds), and portfolio implementation

  • Solid knowledge of market structure, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations

  • Ability to engage credibly with senior investment professionals and articulate drivers of market and portfolio performance

  • Strong analytical capability; this is not a quantitative research role, though numerical and data fluency are essential

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills

  • Existing Swiss client relationships are considered a strong advantage

  • Programming knowledge (Python, VBA, SQL) is advantageous but not required

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) is an advantage

  • Fluency in English and German required; French strongly preferred
