We are seeking an experienced Engineer to support the Index Non-GIMI product initiative. This role is critical for ensuring accurate data sourcing, transformation, and deployment across multiple downstream teams, including Index, Analytics, ESG, and Real Estate. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders along with hands-on experience with of AI/ML techniques to optimize data processes and automation. This role is pivotal in ensuring data integrity and timely delivery for strategic product initiatives. By enabling accurate and efficient data processing and leveraging AI for automation and quality improvements, the engineer will directly contribute to the successful launch of Non-GIMI indexes, strengthening MSCI’s market position and client trust.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, including coverage, quality standards, and SLAs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for sourcing and integrating reference and market data from external vendors.
• Implement automated quality checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Apply MSCI methodologies to raw data and ensure proper transformation for downstream systems (Index, Analytics, ESG, Real Estate).
• Develop and maintain derived datasets using defined methodologies for specialized business needs.
• Explore and implement AI/ML techniques to enhance data validation, anomaly detection, and automation of repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with data science teams to identify opportunities for leveraging AI in improving data quality and operational efficiency.
• Configure, deploy, and validate changes in UAT environments to ensure system stability and compliance.
• Collect feedback from stakeholders and incorporate improvements into the solution design.
• Optimize and finalize implementation based on UAT results and stakeholder input.
• Deploy production-ready solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Strong proficiency in data engineering, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
• Experience with Java, SQL, Python, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML techniques, including model development and deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of financial data systems is a plus.
• Experience with data quality frameworks and automated testing tools.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and manage deployments across UAT and production.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
