Your Team Responsibilities

The Time Series Data Operations team delivers production data across multiple asset classes—fixed income, futures, derivatives, and equity analytics—supporting MSCI's index products and analytical models. The team is responsible for:

  • Daily data production and quality assurance for client-facing data products
  • Vendor data integration and management
  • Methodology implementations, historical restatements, and platform migrations
  • Data quality investigation including pricing errors, model performance, and analytical discrepancies
  • Process automation and efficiency improvements aligned with MSCI's AI transformation mandate
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Research, Development, and Product teams

Your Key Responsibilities

AI & Automation

  • Design and implement AI-driven automation for data production workflows, including automated quality checks, anomaly detection, and exception handling
  • Build and maintain AI-assisted tools such as automated documentation, intelligent triage systems, and code generation aids
  • Define metrics to measure automation progress and efficiency improvements
  • Evaluate new AI technologies and identify opportunities to apply them to data operations challenges

Data Production & Quality

  • Oversee daily data production and quality assurance across fixed income, futures, derivatives, and equity analytics
  • Lead projects involving methodology changes, historical data corrections, vendor transitions, and platform migrations
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues involving multiple vendors and data sources
  • Improve and automate multi-step production processes to increase reliability and reduce manual work

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work with Research, Development, and Product teams to align data operations with broader business goals
  • Lead initiatives to reorganize and improve how data products are structured and delivered
  • Represent the team in cross-functional projects and discussions with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Mentor team members and share knowledge about workflows, tools, and best practices

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in financial data operations, market data, or quantitative analytics
  • Strong SQL and Python skills; experience working with large datasets and databases
  • Familiarity with multiple asset classes: fixed income, derivatives, futures, or equities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex multi-team projects
  • Experience with or strong interest in AI tools, automation, or process improvement
  • Strong professional English communication skills, written and verbal

Nice to Have

  • Experience using generative AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) in a work context
  • CFA, FRM, or similar certification
  • Experience with Agile workflows or project management
  • Familiarity with market data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure)
  • Track record of successfully automating workflows or improving operational processes
  • Interest in ESG or sustainability data
