Your Team Responsibilities

The APAC index product team helps drive MSCI’s index business growth in Asia Pacific. The team will work with Sales, Research, and Clients on a day-to-day basis to understand industry trends, client needs and business requirements to then translate into growth opportunities for MSCI and execute. The team responsibilities includes, but not limited to
Business Strategy and Execution, Product Strategy, Development & Implementation, and Business Change Management in driving growth and expanding opportunities for index business across MSCI’s core client segments – Asset Managers, Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Private Banks, Asset Owners, and Insurance.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy and Execution – Form, articulate and execute on our strategic objectives and projects to drive growth in Asia Pacific with a focus on Australia/New Zealand markets and factor index/data products. This can include, but is not limited to leading and executing key strategic initiatives, global communication of strategic priorities, managing and running mini business lines locally and opining on client commercial agreements
  • Product Strategy, Development & Implementation – Partner with key global stakeholders to create, shape and bring to market new, innovative and relevant index solutions – both globally and in region. This can include, but is not limited to developing new index ideas, working to bring new solutions to market and ensuring post-launch revenue targets are met
  • Business Change Management – Form, own and execute projects of all sizes to deliver best in class outcomes for the Business and MSCI’s clients. This will involve managing groups of internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 10+ years of industry experience in Asset Management or a similar investment-oriented field, ideally have worked with clients and interacted with regulators, exchanges and other critical participants in the APAC financial services ecosystem.
  • Strategic and commercial mindset with prior experience of defining and delivering core strategic initiatives – ideally in commercial/product strategy or project management roles within the financial industry
  • Experience with equity quant/factor datasets, optimization models and financial products is highly desirable
  • Ability to form and articulate crisp strategic thinking via both oral presentation and presentation tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Independent and inquisitive thinker with an owner operator mentality. Must have a burning desire to deliver results and enjoy seeing projects from genesis to conclusion
  • Strong project management skills with prior successful experience of managing, running and executing complex projects
  • Understanding of index investing and design with excellent understanding of financial markets
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • A team player
