MSCI is seeking a technically strong and highly motivated Senior Associate to join the Climate Product Management team supporting the development of our Physical Risk, Geospatial Asset Intelligence, and Nature Solutions product suites. As part of an agile team, the Senior Associate will contribute to product analysis, design specification development, go-to-market activities and cross-functional coordination that enable scalable product delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Physical Risk, Nature & Geospatial Solutions, this role requires the ability to translate client needs and scientific methodologies into clear product requirements and design documentation for engineering teams, while supporting an AI-First approach to workflow automation and product innovation. The ideal candidate combines technical rigor, curiosity, and strong communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset and a passion for sustainability and data-driven innovation.
Draft design specifications, user stories, and technical requirement documents that accurately translate product concepts into actionable development tasks for engineering teams.
Support the development and enhancement of Geospatial, Supply Chain, Climate and Nature-related products through structured analysis, research, and documentation.
Apply learning agility to build domain knowledge across climate science, geospatial data, and nature-related frameworks.
Develop a working understanding of client workflows across asset managers, asset owners, banks, insurers, and corporates.
Translate client needs into product requirements, functional specifications, and design inputs that support prioritization and roadmap planning.
Assist senior team members in refining user journeys and identifying areas where AI or automation can enhance client value.
Contribute to the adoption of an AI-First mentality by identifying opportunities to incorporate automation, agentic workflows, and AI-driven enhancements into internal processes or product features.
Support prototyping efforts involving AI tools, structured datasets, or geospatial processing pipelines.
Document AI-enabled processes, ensuring clarity for engineering, research, and internal partners.
Coordinate product-related activities across Research, Data, Technology, Sales, and Client Coverage, ensuring clarity of requirements and alignment on deliverables.
Prepare structured materials for planning discussions, sprint cycles, and release readiness checkpoints.
Maintain accurate documentation and track progress across multiple workstreams.
Prepare drafts of training materials, user guides, FAQs, and internal documentation that accurately describe product features and data workflows.
Communicate technical topics clearly for internal audiences, ensuring transparency around methodology, data inputs, and product logic.
Uphold documentation quality and integrity, flagging inconsistencies or gaps proactively.
Support responses to product inquiries and RFPs by gathering information, drafting structured content, and synthesizing technical details.
Assist in preparing materials for client meetings, presentations, and demos.
Surface common themes in client feedback and collaborate with senior team members to refine product enhancements.
Track developments in physical risk modeling, geospatial analytics, AI workflow innovation, and nature-related frameworks (e.g., TNFD, SBTN).
Support preparation for conferences, industry events, and external engagements.
Demonstrate curiosity and independent learning on relevant scientific, market, and technological trends.
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
2–5 years of experience in climate analytics, sustainable finance, product support, data analytics, or geospatial workflows.
Demonstrated ability to translate client needs into structured product requirements, design specifications, or user stories.
Foundational knowledge of physical climate risk, geospatial data, or nature-related analytics, with strong willingness to deepen expertise.
Comfort working with AI tools, automation concepts, or agentic workflows—or strong motivation to build these capabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity into clear, structured deliverables.
Solid project coordination skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams with accuracy and attention to detail.
Collaborative and team-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Curious, proactive, and eager to build expertise in climate, nature, geospatial data, and AI-driven product development.
Detail-focused with strong integrity, ensuring documentation accuracy and raising risks when needed.
