Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI Sustainability & Climate Data collection team is involved in acquisition of Sustainability & Climate data at scale and QA of the collected data and responsible for establishing and maintaining highest level of data quality and standards across all datasets feeding our ESG products. As an Data Collection Transformation Associate, you will be responsible for delivering on initiatives as part of the Climate transformation agenda

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and process supply‑chain, sustainability, and climate‑related disclosures from 10,000+ global companies, leveraging GenAI‑based tools for scalable extraction.
  • Drive Insightful Research: Proactively source, analyze, and process global company disclosures, leveraging generative AI to extract meaningful insights across diverse data domains and models.
  • Unlock the Power of Information: Work with a vast array of data sources—including annual reports, company websites, quantitative data feeds, web crawlers, and news articles—to transform unstructured information into actionable intelligence.
  • Revolutionize Data Collection with AI: Design and implement AI-assisted, scalable models that streamline data sourcing from multiple channels, ensuring comprehensive coverage of issuers.
  • Automate & Scale Data Methodologies: Develop innovative, automation-friendly data collection methodologies that convert unstructured data into structured insights through advanced AI-driven “electronification.”
  • Engineer Next-Gen AI Models: Build and refine generative AI-powered data extraction models, ensuring continuous improvement in accuracy, efficiency, and performance.
  • Lead & Optimize AI Agents: Manage, guide, and enhance AI agents, serving as a validation layer to improve outputs and refine AI-generated insights through expert feedback.
  • Shape the Future of Data Operations: Partner with technology and transformation teams to design, optimize, and engineer cutting-edge data workflows and operational processes.
  • Enhance Data Quality & Efficiency: Drive automation initiatives that improve data quality diagnostics, reducing manual intervention and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate for Impact: Work closely with internal stakeholders and downstream teams to understand data needs, define quality control frameworks, and ensure seamless data delivery.

Engage with Companies & Clients: Review and process company feedback, address client queries, and contribute to a transparent, data-driven ecosystem that powers critical decision-making

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Environmental Science, Data Science, or related interdisciplinary fields.
  • 3–7 years of experience in large‑scale data collection, research, data operations, or supply‑chain analysis; climate or sustainability domain experience is an advantage.
  • Hands‑on experience with Python for automation, web scraping, API integration, data cleaning, and high‑volume processing.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and comfort handling large datasets.
  • Experience applying GenAI/LLMs for data extraction, summarization, classification, or workflow automation; ability to build prompt‑based workflows and evaluate model output.
  • Familiarity with AI agents, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), or ML‑assisted quality checks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex corporate disclosures and extract meaningful supply‑chain insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with global teams across multiple time zones and collaborate with cross‑functional partners.
