Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking to expand its Climate Client Specialist and is looking for a suitable candidate to join our New York office. As a Climate Specialist you will be part of our team that is a leading provider of Climate research and investment tools to institutional investors globally, this includes knowledge of investment themes and objectives related to Physical and Transition Risks or Opportunities. In this role you will be supporting relationship managers’ interaction with some of the world’s largest financial institutions to position and explain our climate solutions. You will learn in technical detail MSCI’s Climate product suite and how to guide clients and prospective clients in leveraging our products across asset classes and investment related objectives, to bring that knowledge together to provide insight and best practices to those client organizations. As a Specialist your performance will be based on a combination of factors including account renewal rates, contract value growth and pre-sales activities in cooperation with the sales and servicing teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as domain expert on MSCI Climate suite of products and master client objectives for integrating our solutions
  • Help to manage client inquiry and issue resolution process
  • Monitor and ensure client satisfaction through various projects or initiatives that support Specialist & Product teams
  • Achieve target sales and retention rates across financial segments, such as banks, insurance, asset management, or asset owners, etc.
  • Drive revenue growth through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Identify and communicate up-sell opportunities to sales team
  • Build subject matter expertise in pre-sales/up-sell/training activities
  • Establish the ability to become a liaison between client and internal teams for key client initiatives and product developments

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Experience and understanding of investing and financial services
  • Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills are critical
  • Innovative, motivated, client-oriented and commercially-aware thinker
  • Ability to manage projects and multitask independently
  • A team player able to effectively manage the expectations of a diverse and demanding client base
  • Absolute personal and business integrity
  • 7+ years of experience, preferably in a client facing position in financial services or Sustainability
  • Bachelors required
  • Successful candidates will have exposure to Sustainable Investing, Climate Finance, or Finance and have interest in developing strong working relationships with external clients.
