Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate / Senior Associate to join our team in Mumbai (/Pune). This role will focus on supporting and enhancing data distribution in MSCI’s Sustainability and Climate business, with a particular focus on ensuring our Climate data products and distribution are ready for the era of AI. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance data distribution channels, prepare datasets for use in AI tools and workflows, contribute to data catalog development, and support client communication on new features and enhancements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • AI Readiness and Data Enablement: Support the preparation of Sustainability and Climate datasets for AI and advanced analytics use cases by driving data quality improvements, metadata enrichment, standardization, and the adoption of best practices that enable seamless integration with machine learning workflows and emerging AI-driven capabilities.
  • Sustainability and Climate Data Projects: Assist in the execution of projects related to Sustainability and Climate datasets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Data Distribution Channels: Contribute to initiatives that enhance MSCI’s Sustainability and Climate data distribution platforms (e.g., Snowflake, feeds, portals), ensuring scalability and client satisfaction.
  • Data Catalog and Discovery: Support the development and maintenance of Sustainability and Climate data catalogs, improving data accessibility and enabling efficient data discovery for clients.
  • Client Communications: Partner with product and client-facing teams to support communication with clients on upcoming features, enhancements, and best practices for leveraging MSCI’s data solutions.
  • Operational Efficiencies: Support initiatives aimed at improving MSCI’s operational efficiency and process effectiveness across data workflows.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in data operations, data distribution, client service, financial services, or sustainability-related domains.
  • Experience in using data distribution platforms (e.g., Snowflake, APIs, or data feeds).
  • Experience in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor)
  • Passion for Sustainability, Climate, and ESG data.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solver mindset with eagerness to learn and contribute.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and climate data, climate products / policy, or related industry practices preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
