This role will serve as a key strategic partner in driving MSCI’s Internal Capital Allocation (ICAP), performance measurement, and expense management across the firm’s core product lines. The successful candidate will play a central role in optimizing investment efficiency and enhancing financial transparency, ensuring that capital is deployed effectively to maximize long-term value creation.
As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, this role reports to an Executive Director who leads strategic investment tracking, governance, and reporting. The Vice President will support the development of robust control frameworks, deliver insightful analysis, and manage high-visibility reporting, including materials for MSCI’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and exceptional stakeholder management skills. The candidate will collaborate closely with senior leaders across Finance, Strategy, and Product to align investment decisions with MSCI’s strategic priorities. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence firm-wide financial strategy and drive impactful decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
Internal Capital Allocation: Oversee ICAP for product lines, identifying optimal investment opportunities and reporting insights to senior management.
Expense Management: Monitor, analyze, and report expenses across multiple levels, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Investment Tracking: Evaluate the cost-benefit analysis of investments, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure justifications are robust and well-documented.
Performance Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models in Excel to track product performance, providing actionable insights and key takeaways for business leaders.
Dynamic Problem Solving: Adapt to evolving business needs by managing ad-hoc requests, conducting rapid analyses, and providing timely insights on emerging priorities.
Agility and Initiative: Demonstrate flexibility in managing shifting priorities, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and taking ownership of high-impact, time-sensitive initiatives.
Influence and Decision Support: Support decision-making by articulating data-driven rationales to influence relevant stakeholders.
Management Reporting: Ensure accuracy and control over ICAP reporting in critical management materials, including Board presentations, Quarterly Financial Reviews, Strategic Updates, and Business Reviews.
Efficient Delivery: Deliver high-quality, precise outputs within tight deadlines, demonstrating accountability and independence.
Team Collaboration: Work independently on specific deliverables while contributing collaboratively to larger team initiatives with a cooperative mindset.
FP&A Expertise: Provide support for budget and forecasting processes, addressing inquiries with strong financial acumen.
Standardization and Automation: Drive the standardization and automation of reporting processes across various segments and functions.
Presentation Skills: Create and deliver impactful presentations, leveraging advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
