We’re looking for a motivated Inside Sales Specialist to help grow MSCI’s Sustainability & Climate product line, including Carbon Markets. You will focus on prospecting across insurance companies to expand our presence across the Americas.

As part of the Inside Sales / Client Coverage team, you’ll support global sales efforts by qualifying leads, educating prospects about MSCI’s Sustainability & Climate solutions, and driving new business. You will work closely with Sales Specialists, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Client Service to execute on the strategy and meet revenue targets.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation
  • Identify and reach out to prospective insurance clients across North America and LatAm for Sustainability & Climate and Carbon Markets products.
  • Execute sales campaigns via Salesforce.
  • Cold-calling / cold emailing and follow-ups to set up meetings.
  • Leverage market research, competitor intelligence, and product insights to shape outreach.
  • Qualification & Opportunity Creation
  • Evaluate prospect needs; articulate value propositions of MSCI’s Sustainability, Climate Risk, and Carbon Markets solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Specialists to convert qualified leads into opportunities.
  • Support Existing Clients & Renewals
  • For clients already using MSCI products: identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities for Sustainability & Climate solutions.
  • Ensure clients are aware of new features, updates, or product enhancements.
  • Pre-Sales and Internal Coordination
  • Assist with RFPs, requests for information (RFIs), and due diligence.
  • Provide sample data, demonstrations, and product materials.
  • Assist with Portfolio Coverage Checks as part of Proof of Concept.
  • Coordinate with Product, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Client Service to support deal closure.
  • Metrics & Reporting
  • Track and report performance metrics (leads generated, meetings scheduled, conversion rates, pipeline value).
  • Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and other internal systems for forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and activity reporting.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, finance, economics or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, master’s in climate science or sustainability) is a plus.
  • 2–3 years of sales / inside sales / business development experience, ideally with climate risk, carbon markets, or sustainability-focused products.
  • Experience in prospecting, cold outreach, and lead qualification.
  • Strong English communication skills—able to explain technical or product-driven material to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with metrics, forecasts, and targets, with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent), MS Excel and/or analytics tools.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience selling to insurance companies
  • Knowledge of regulations relevant to sustainability and climate risk in North America and LatAm.
