Your Team Responsibilities

As the Climate Product Management Associate you will be part of our team that is a leading provider of Climate research to institutional investors globally. In this role you will help us to develop and launch new Climate products, and to support and make improvements to existing products. You will work with several senior product managers, as well as stakeholders across the organization and around the world. You will learn about the fast-growing sustainable investing field, leading Climate products in the market and how investors are using them.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: collaborates with senior product managers in ensuring the overall achievement of product objectives. Works within the product management team to support key projects and in determining product vision, positioning, and direction. Collaborates with other teams, such as research, engineers & program management.
  • Product Development: supports new product development and product enhancements by creating clear and detailed product specifications, ensuring alignment with business goals, user requirements, and technical feasibility. Assists in project coordination and by coordinating across functional teams, and particularly with engineering, data operations and research teams to drive the successful implementation of projects.
  • Product Release & Launch Support: coordinate product launch activities, including changes to applications, standard data feeds, and salesforce; testing new features in relevant applications; preparing pitchbooks and factsheets; drafting FAQs and supporting documentation to support client facing teams; and coordinating and sending client communications.
  • Support the Client Coverage organization: supports our client facing organization by responding to questions from MSCI client coverage related to existing product features, functionality, pricing and licensing; developing user guides and documentation; assisting with RFPs; assisting with client communications; and helping to organize periodic training sessions for coverage. Also collaborates closely with senior coverage leads to ensure alignment on roadmap priorities, and opportunity sizing.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: supports senior product managers from ideation, initial planning to implementation, validation, and customer enablement & ensure successful delivery and adoption of climate-focused solutions. He/she also supports the scoping of new ideas and their sizing in terms of potential revenue. Also supports the quarterly planning & roadmap prioritization processes.
  • Successful candidates will have a Responsible Investing (RI) or financial background and exhibit an interest for Climate issues and have demonstrated experience in developing strong working relationships with external clients.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Education: An ideal candidate will hold a degree in a technical field; for example, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or the equivalent in experience. Experience within a front office investment environment is helpful inclusive of direct exposure to portfolio management or credit & equity research process
  • Experience: A Climate Product Management Associate is preferably a person who has experience in finance, Climate/ESG investing and product management. As an additional bonus, the candidate will have experience in the completion of a product project from beginning to end.
  • Organizational Skills: An ideal candidate will have previous marketing or product management experience in a financial services organization, with a strong track record of delivering high quality work on time and working autonomously. A strong analytical capability and attention to details with the ability to meet deadlines is a quality necessary for proper execution of the duties in this position. The candidate must also possess an ability to construct clear-cut product requirements and technical documentations on short notice as required by their seniors. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be a person who is able to effectively work on several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: The position is one that demands constant interaction with senior product management personnel, other teams, and external clients and partners. Because of this, the candidate must possess excellent communication skills in order to be positioned to effectively make regular presentations to these individuals as required. Note, that excellent people skills are also important for the facilitation of smooth interactions in internal business collaborations.
  • Analytical Skills: The candidate must also demonstrate exceptional analytical skills in the performance of their duties. These analytical skills coupled with strong technical abilities and a genuine passion for new technologies and analytical tools, are a quality an ideal candidate will possess.
  • Creativity/Innovation/Pro Active: The candidate is creative and innovative in problem solving and the formulation of solutions as well as communicating / visualizing complex concept in a simple way. Additionally, they should demonstrate great initiative and motivation in approaching their workload as well as in learning new interpersonal and analytical skills
