Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI, Inc. Seeks Executive Director, Software Engineering Manager in New York, NY to establish and monitor processes for Issue Management, Change Management and Quality Management.

Your Key Responsibilities

Define detailed scopes of engagements and the service level agreements with Partners. Create source control branches as per the release and perform integrations from one branch to another. Determine resource requirements and hiring the required resources for projects. Identify gaps in processes and tools from postmortem meetings. Work with vendor management companies with regard to bargaining on prices for development resources. Prepare cost and revenue budgets. Identify more efficient processes, with a detailed look at initiatives to maintain and improve production stability and reliability. Leverage cutting edge software development techniques and technologies, following the best practices of the industry, as well as core Java, data structures, concurrency, java memory model, garbage collection and object-oriented designs, and apply complex software design patterns.

 

SALARY & WORK SCHEDULE: $256,000 to $344,000/year, 40 hrs/wk

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing experience with engineering principles, software development, and system architecture; planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure timely completion within budget; liaising with stakeholders to convey ideas and information about software development, architecture and project roadmaps identifying issues, analyzing problems, and implementing effective solutions while leading a crew of engineers through multiple quarters on different projects across organizational boundaries; utilizing programming languages including contributions of JavaScript standards and browser development; working with distributed system architecture including defining the storage architecture for outreach; and performing engineering leadership including mentoring younger engineers. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
