Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Index Research team is responsible for the ongoing construction and management of all MSCI Market Cap, Factor, Thematic, Capped, Custom and Climate and Sustainability Indexes for both Equity and Fixed Income. This position is best suited for a results-driven, self-starter with a strong work ethic. You will have a unique opportunity to work with a cross-functional global team, build professional connections, and learn the business model and the intricacies of this industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an intern in Index Management Research in Monterrey, you will be looked to primarily support the Global Index Research Team by preparing information and analyzing data. As part of the role, you will be monitoring the developments in the investment management process globally, including new trends and styles in portfolio management, investment styles and asset allocation, aside from researching and recommending methodology enhancements in close consultation with leading investment management firms. he role also includes support activities such as preparing presentations, dashboards, reports, and actively participating in presentations and projects.

The intern role will also be involved in general Index Management Research responsibilities such as constructing and rebalancing the indexes in accordance with the index methodology, performing index policy research and some assistance in new product development. There will also be some interaction as a liaison between internal teams such as IT, DCS, Corporate Events in project work streams.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written. A must.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of Equity Analysis and Equity Investment Process, Institutional Investment Practices and Buy Side Portfolio Management concepts.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of a programing language. Python is a plus.
  • Students from 5th semester and up in Finance, Economics, Engineering, related careers with a GPA of 90/100.
  • Graduation date: not earlier than December 2026.
  • A self-starter and highly motivated individual, with the ability to work individually and within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight, short-term deadlines.
  • Ability to work efficiently with diverse cultures on a global team.
  • Interest in global financial markets.
