We are seeking a motivated, well organized and technically strong Physical Risk Product Integration Researcher to join our Climate Risk Center team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will play a key role in scaling, and delivering of client relevant Physical Risk products. You will ensure efficient integration, consistency, and innovation across our suite of physical risk analytics by aligning production processes, model frameworks, and data flows within MSCI’s platform strategy. You will help tailoring physical risk solutions to meet diverse client needs by translating complex climate models into actionable, user-aligned insights that deliver measurable value for investors and institutions. You will also support the operationalization of new and enhanced products built on MSCI’s Physical Risk model framework, integrate external datasets , and collaborate closely with R&D, product, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end product experience This is an exciting opportunity for a professional passionate about climate risk analytics and building scalable, best-in-class physical risk solutions for global investors and institutions.
Integrate physical risk models and datasets into cloud production environments.
Ensure consistency, interoperability, and quality across physical risk products and data systems.
Support the operationalization of new and enhanced products leveraging MSCI’s Physical Risk model framework.
Collaborate with R&D, Product, and Engineering teams to align data structures, methodologies, quality controls and to automate and optimize production workflows for scalability and reliability.
Identify and resolve integration challenges related to model interoperability, data transparency, and production efficiency.
Contribute to the design, validation, and testing of analytical outputs that are ready for product deployment.
Coordinate integration of external datasets acquired through partnerships.
Maintain high standards of documentation, traceability, and reproducibility.
Drive continuous improvement by proposing innovations that enhance the product integration pipeline and workflow efficiency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality. Hands-on experience with model integration, data pipeline development, or production workflows in Python or similar programming languages
Experience working in cloud-based production environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with version control, workflow orchestration, and CI/CD tools
Solid understanding of climate, environmental, or quantitative modeling concepts
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global, cross-functional environment
Self-driven and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivery
3+ years of experience in climate risk, catastrophe modeling, environmental data integration, or other quantitative domains
Proven track record of supporting the operationalization of scientific or analytical models into production systems
Experience in designing or maintaining scalable data or model integration workflows
MSc or PhD in environmental sciences, geosciences, physics, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative field
