Your Team Responsibilities

The Corporate Events IT team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the applications used to calculate the effect of corporate events on the securities known to MSCI.

These internal applications are critical to track the corporate events happening on the market, extract the terms of the events and determine the impact of the event on the security datapoints stored in the MSCI systems.

We also maintain products distributed to MSCI clients which provide an advanced view of the corporate events and their security impacts.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain our current set of backend services written in Java (v21) and using the Spring Boot Framework
  • Enhance the Corporate Event Desktop applications and the React WebUI
  • Raise pull requests and implement feedback received on pull requests from senior team members
  • Ensure high code quality and safety levels supported by Sonar code analysis and Mend reports
  • Interact with business counterparts to showcase your developments and to understand requirements
  • In case of production issues promptly unblock production processes and ensure long term remediation and fixes are implemented

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • MSc or BSc in Computer Science
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Java, preferably version 17+
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, good understanding of common design patterns
  • Experience with secure coding practices
  • Experience with the Spring/Spring Boot framework is a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, especially React, is a plus
  • Fluent communication skills in English
