Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking an outstanding Software Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. Quality Engineering team is dedicated to ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of quality in terms of functionality, stability, reliability, and performance.

As a key member of this team, the candidate will work closely with the global teams based in Beijing, Berkeley, Boston, Budapest, Mumbai, New York City, and Norman to ensure that MSCI Performance Attribution /Risk applications continue to provide clients exceptional quality and sophistication. The candidate is expected to be detail oriented and capable of performing multi-task assignments in a timely and independent fashion.

The candidate will work on innovative applications utilizing the latest technologies and will be responsible for ensuring that product specifications and functionality fulfill client needs. The individual is expected to create functional & regression tests, execute functional tests  and automate the test cases for for Performance Attribution /Risk applications. The candidate should be highly motivated, have strong communications skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for various software components, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Develop and extend automated test cases and all test related documentation.
  • Analyze our applications to identify key areas for automation.
  • Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and project managers to understand software quality requirements, design effective test strategies and execute test plans.
  • Identify and document defects, issues, and potential areas of improvement in the software development process.
  • Perform root cause analysis of complex issues and work with the development team to resolve issues and enhance the overall product quality.
  • Perform test case management activities and track test requirement coverage.
  • Work with Release Engineers to ensure smooth delivery of our applications to our clients.
  •  Assist in streamlining and improving the daily test processes.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
  • 5-8 years of quality assurance engineering experience
  • Programming experience with Java or Python
  • Experience in the design, development, and implementation of software testing solutions.
  • Experience in automation testing
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience scripting or coding & SQL
  • Experience in working with Global teams.
  • Experience in Iterative and Agile development methodology
  • Candidate can demonstrate that they have the capability to ramp up quickly without a lot of instruction, training, or hand-holding.
  • Testing experience with financial software.
  • Working Experience on API & UI Manual and automation testing.
  • Working Experience of Software Engineering tools such as JIRA, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Eclipse IDE, GIT,SOAP UI or Postman API testing tools or similar tools.
