Your Team Responsibilities

The SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy, Consolidations team is responsible for the preparation of MSCIs financial statements (10Qs/10K), the tie-out of those financial statements as well as the quarterly Earnings Releases, Earnings Presentations including all other Investor Relations material that is publicly distributed. In addition, on a monthly basis, the team is responsible for the consolidation, preparation and distribution of the monthly financial results, the preparation and recording of various journal entries (i.e. share-based compensation expense, lease expense, treasury share accounting, etc.) and the preparation of equity reconciliations. Furthermore, the team is also in charge of accounting research and the preparation of whitepaper based on the applicable ASUs that are issued by the FASB on a periodic basis.

Your Key Responsibilities

This role will be involved in preparing and reviewing SEC filings and other related Investor Relations documents, managing various aspects of the monthly accounting close, including ensuring the integrity and operation of the ERP, consolidation and reporting financial systems used by the Controllership, as well as assisting in the researching and related preparation of reports and position papers of ad hoc accounting topics:

 

  • Assist in the preparation of various footnote disclosures and the underlying calculations for the periodic SEC filings (i.e. 10Q, 10K and other required filings)
  • Utilize Workiva to manage and streamline SEC filings and related documentation
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations (IR) team to review IR materials (i.e. earnings release, earnings presentation, and investor presentation), ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Support the month-end close, including preparing monthly share-based compensation expense calculations, investment in subsidiaries calculations, and the relevant monthly journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assist in running the consolidation in SAP
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline external reporting processes
  • Assist in researching SEC rules, U.S. GAAP and other accounting guidance to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements
  • Participate in special projects, including M&A-related reporting, process improvements, and system implementations

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant or local equivalent preferred but not required
  • 2–6 years of experience in industry or public accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Workiva is preferred or similar tool preparing SEC filings (10K/Q, 8K, proxy, etc.)
  • Proven ability to enhance process efficiency
  • Ability to work independently with a reasonable level of coaching and guidance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with accounting for stock-based compensation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
