Your Team Responsibilities

As a key member of MSCI’s Americas Client Coverage organization, you will lead initiatives that drive growth across in MSCI’s product licensing and asset based fee business in Canada. This blended role focuses on cultivating and expanding relationships with all parts of the indexed investing ecosystem including ETF sponsors, professional ETF allocators like wealth management firms and model portfolio providers as well as Direct Index SMA Managers. The position is uniquely positioned at the intersection of index licensing, strategic client engagement and product enablement.

You will be responsible for educating clients on MSCI’s market-leading index methodologies and expanding adoption of indexed investing in various product wrappers. You will collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders across Index Product, Wealth, Research, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to deliver high-impact solutions to clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deepen day-to-day relationships with ETF sponsors, wealth management home offices, model portfolio providers and other strategic partners.
  • Expand the usage of MSCI indexes across ETFs and Direct Index SMAs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on MSCI index methodologies, investment thesis indexes and portfolio personalization tools.
  • Lead client education initiatives through presentations, thought leadership and strategic content delivery tailored to investment professionals (e.g., CIOs, product creators, asset allocation teams).
  • Identify and pursue index licensing opportunities and referrals for subscription-based solutions including portfolio construction, risk analytics, sustainability integration and sales enablement platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on market research, product positioning, sales strategy and execution.
  • Respond to detailed client inquiries regarding MSCI index methodologies, data integration and customized indexing use cases.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 6–8 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on ETFs, SMAs, indexing and wealth management.
  • Proven relationship management and direct sales experience, particularly with ETF sponsors and wealth management firms.
  • Strong technical investment knowledge, including capital markets, asset allocation, benchmarking and portfolio construction.
  • Superior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with a client-centric mindset.
  • Deep understanding of the ETF and SMA product landscape and competitive positioning.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of synthesizing client needs into tailored MSCI solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; CFA or CAIA designation strongly preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative and solutions-oriented approach with a digital-first mentality.
