Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Business Involvement Screening Research (BISR) team maintains the data and content of the following solutions: Business Involvement, Sanctions, and Sustainable Impact Metrics. BISR covers over 60,000 publicly listed companies globally, identifying their activities and business ties related to specific themes such as, but not limited to, alcohol, animal welfare, gambling, defense and weapons, country sanctions, or sustainable impact themes.  

 

The BISR Content team is responsible for monitoring the quality of the BISR data and driving improvements to client experience by performing content quality assurance, investigating data quality issues, and formulating remediations and solutions. Additionally, the team reviews and enhances methodology and monitor industry trends and developments. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Own, oversee, and further improve data quality and content belonging to the BISR dataset, particularly medical- and healthcare-related content 
  • Respond to and resolve queries or concerns raised by clients or companies 
  • Investigate data quality issues and propose remediations and solutions  
  • Review the application of the BISR methodology in the screening research process 
  • Engage in or participate in calls with clients and companies for data validation and query resolution

 

Other responsibilities may include:  

  • Conduct deep dive reviews of companies’ business ties and assess revenues generated from such business activities using sources like company websites, annual reports, sustainability reports, and other documents, as necessary in resolving client queries. 
  • Collaborate with a global team of research analysts to maintain the integrity of the methodologies. 
  • Participate in projects related to data quality and transformation initiatives.  

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, sustainability, or related field 
  • Background or working knowledge in the Healthcare, Consumer Discretionary, or Consumer Staples sectors is an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, sustainable finance, and/or responsible investment principles 
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience
