Your Team Responsibilities

Company Date Operations performs critical functions for the construction and maintenance of its indexes such as  Fundamental Data Updates,  Global Industry Classification Standards (GICS®) Review, Economic Exposure Review and Segment Data Updates.

 

The roles and responsibilities of the Senior Associate will primarily be for the GICS Team. In addition, there will be involvement in Segment Data functions as well.

 

Key responsibilities will be to quality check the data and participation in daily and monthly production processes and process improvements that are done to enhance our workflows keeping in mind MSCI’s strategic roadmap for “Less Human in the Loop”.

 

  • Quality checking the data based on MSCI guidelines

  • Assist in coordinating the production process that involves familiarity with Databases, SQL queries, Power BI Dashboards etc.
  • Define metrics to measure the performance of the function
  • Participate in new product launches based on Segment Data
  • Participate in Transformation Projects and initiatives that aim to improve efficiencies in the process and quality
  • Collaborate with IT teams and provide expertise on how we can transform existing process to ensure we maintain high quality standards but reduce human intervention and also scale up for coverage expansion
  • Work with data scientists to build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms that can be used in our processes
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

 

 

Your Key Responsibilities

 

  • The Senior Associate would typically perform the following functions for GICS:

    • Reviewing the appropriateness of the current GICS of various companies. GICS Review is done based on various factors such as product segmentation, market perception, competitors' classification
    • Determining the GICS of companies newly added to the Universe
    • Improve the process that integrates Business Segment Data and company level GICS

 

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Preference to techno-functional background in BFSI domain
  • Hands on experience in using visualization tools (Preferably Power BI)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Practical understanding and application of data science, machine learning techniques, Text Analysis and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Good analytical and data-driven analysis skills
  • An independent worker who can drive certain parts of the work with minimal oversight
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams
  • Ability to work and plan effectively with minimal direction in ambiguous situations
  • Self-starter and high level of motivation and commitment to hard work
  • Open mind with a taste for improving processes
  • Should be a team player
  • High level of focus on work quality/attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to articulate clearly and concisely
  • Desire to effectively work with diverse cultures on a global team
  • 5 to 9 years’ experience
  • CA/CFA/MBA or equivalent
