Your Key Responsibilities

 

The Securities Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing and reporting financial data for private capital investment partnerships. This includes reviewing fund financial statements to extract key data on securities positions, such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investments. The analyst ensures alignment between security-level and holding-level data, performs validation checks for accuracy and consistency, and standardizes data for reporting. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams to maintain data integrity and provide timely, accurate reports to institutional clients, ensuring transparency into portfolio composition, exposure, and risk.

 

  • Comprehensive Review and Analysis of Private Capital Partnership Financials: Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of private capital partnership financial statements, compiling and maintaining security-level details to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of investment positions
  • Proficiency in Investment Tracking Methodologies: Develop proficiency in a broad range of methodologies for tracking investments, valuations, and proceeds, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and maintaining consistency across diverse asset classes
  • Audit and Quality Control Functions: Execute thorough audit procedures and implement robust quality control measures to validate the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of data sets, ensuring the reliability of all compiled financial information

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and validate large volumes of financial data
  • Attention to detail, ensuring that all aggregated data is accurate and consistent
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems related to data discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to continuously learn and develop professionally within the finance and securities industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Bachelor’s degree or expected to graduate within 3 months of hire (all majors considered)

 

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Major in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Technology, Mathematics or a related field is seen as an advantage
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Finance is considered a plus
  • Familiarity with financial markets, accounting, private capital, and fund performance metrics
  • Understanding of securities and financial reporting in the context of investment funds
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros) and other data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of data management and automation tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) is considered an asset
