Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Index system calculates and distributes equity indexes to financial markets in real time. As a Java Engineer (VP), you will join a team of engineers dedicated to delivering real-time index solutions using a hybrid architecture that leverages both Azure cloud and on-premise data center solutions. The team is responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions for real-time index production. We work closely with our partners from Technology, Research, Program Management, and Data teams to deliver solutions for our clients

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement real-time index solutions, and manage the operational aspects of real-time indices.
  • Partner with all stakeholders to meet development requirements, including calculation, performance, system usability, and compliance aspects. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Participate in project planning, review development status with the project team, and regularly update the management team on progress.
  • Ensure that all developed solutions comply with security standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for system designs, development processes, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to the Java development team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 10+ years of system design and implementation experiences. Candidate with less experience will be considered for a Senior Associate role.
  • 10+ years of java development experience. Experience in Java 17, 21 will be a plus. 
  • Proficient in Java Spring framework. Experience in ignite will be a plus. 
  • Proficient in using profiling tool for performance tuning.
  • Proficient in test automation. 
  • 2+ years of experience in Kubernetes.
  • 2+ years of experience in Redis. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with devops tool like Azure devops.
  • Experience with using real time market data system. 
  • Knowledge of React is a plus.
