Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our dynamic Data team within Business Technology. This London / NY / Remote US based role is crucial in ensuring seamless and insightful data analysis and reporting across key business areas, specifically Finance, Sales, Product Telemetry, and Marketing.

You will play a pivotal role in understanding and leveraging internal data to support strategic decisions and business processes. A deep comprehension of financial data and relatable business processes, including, but not limited to, order to cash, revenue recognition, record to report, and financial planning, is essential. You will demonstrate leadership by leveraging knowledge to develop and execute critical processes and plans. You will be a go-to person for Finance and Sales stakeholders, ensuring they feel confident in your ability to manage, interpret, and communicate data insights that drive business outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand the landscape within MSCI, covering both the Technology and Business.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Finance, Sales and Product to deliver critical business initiatives by providing accurate and insightful data analysis and reporting.
  • Analyse and interpret internal financial data, including order to cash, revenue, record to report, and financial planning data, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
  • Work with sales data, product telemetry, and marketing data to deliver comprehensive reports that support cross-functional decision-making.
  • Demonstrate a “strategic voice” by proposing solutions to complex and ambiguous problems to address multiple perspectives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to provide stakeholders with real-time, actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability across all reporting systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by demonstrating a deep understanding of their data needs and business functions.
  • Communicate data finding and implications effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of data strategies that support business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Lead to ensure alignment of reporting outputs with broader data governance and technology strategies.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Experience with Revenue business processes and data
  • Experience with a Financial ERP such as SAP and Revenue Accounting Subledger such as RevStream 
  • Strong business understanding of internal data, particularly Financial and Sales Data.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Finance business processes.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders in Finance, Sales, and Product, ensuring they feel confident in your ability to support their data needs.
  • Experience in collaboration, driving execution whilst making critical tradeoffs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business outcomes.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven business environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
