Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI Sustainability Research is seeking to expand its Sustainability Product Management team and is looking for a suitable candidate to join our Budapest office and support the Sustainability & Climate Regulatory Product team.

As the Sustainability Product Management Senior Associate you will be part of our team that is a leading provider of Sustainability & Climate regulatory solutions to institutional investors globally. In this role you will help us to develop and launch new Sustainability & Climate regulatory products, and to support and make improvements to existing products including our SFDR, Taxonomy and CSRD solutions. You will work with stakeholders across the organization and around the world. You will learn about the fast-growing sustainable investing field, the complexity of sustainability regulations and the leading Sustainability & Climate regulatory products in the market and how investors are using them.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: collaborate with key stakeholders across functions in ensuring the overall achievement of product objectives. The Product Manager works within the product management team to support key projects and in determining product vision, positioning, and direction.
  • Product Development: support new product development and product enhancements by compiling business case, revenue estimates and ROI analysis for new initiatives, mockups and product scoping documents, by assisting in project coordination and prioritization, and by coordinating across functional teams, and particularly with IT, data operations and research teams to drive the successful implementation of projects.
  • Product Launch Support: responsible for supporting product launch activities, including coordinating changes to applications, data feeds, and salesforce; testing new features in relevant applications; preparing pitchbooks and factsheets; drafting FAQs and supporting documentation to support client facing teams; and coordinating and sending client communications.
  • Interact with clients and potential clients: provide product expertise in key client meetings, take part in client consultations to gather critical feedback from MSCI clients and stakeholders, and present the product roadmap in client calls and meetings.
  • Support the Client Coverage organization: support our client facing organization by responding to questions from MSCI client coverage related to existing product features, functionality, pricing and licensing; developing user guides and documentation; assisting with RFPs; assisting with client communications; and helping to organize periodic training sessions for coverage.          
  • Product Lifecycle Management: responsible for the identification of new opportunities, service improvements, and cost reductions. In addition, the Product Manager contributes to the determination of pricing and profitability of the product, inclusive of the approval of special pricing where necessary.
  • Successful candidates will have a Sustainable Investing or financial background, exhibit an interest in Sustainability issues and have demonstrated experience in developing strong working relationships with external clients.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Education: An ideal candidate will hold a degree in a technical field; for example, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or the equivalent in experience.
  • Experience: A Sustainability Product Management Senior Associate is preferably a person who has experience in finance, sustainable investing, Sustainability & Climate regulations and/or product management. As an additional bonus, the Product Manager will have experience in the completion of a product project from beginning to end. Experience within a financial institution on Sustainability & Climate regulations and/or advisory firm would be ideal.  
  • Organizational Skills: An ideal candidate will have previous product management experience in a financial services organization, with a strong track record of delivering high quality work on time. A strong analytical capability with the ability to meet deadlines is a quality necessary for proper execution of the duties in this position. The candidate must also possess an ability to construct clear-cut product requirements and technical documentations on short notice as required by their seniors. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be a person who is able to effectively work on several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: The position is one that demands constant interaction with senior product management personnel, other teams, and external clients and partners. Because of this, the Product Management Vice President must possess excellent communication skills and be able to present new proposals or progress on key initiatives effectively and in an engaging way to these individuals as required. Note, that excellent people skills are also important for the facilitation of smooth interactions in internal business collaborations.
  • Analytical Skills: The Product Management Senior Associate must also demonstrate exceptional analytical skills in the performance of their duties. These analytical skills coupled with strong technical abilities and a genuine passion for new technologies and analytical tools, are a quality an ideal candidate will possess.
  • Creativity/Innovation/Pro Active: The Product Management Senior Associate is creative and innovative in problem solving and the formulation of solutions. Additionally, they should demonstrate great initiative and motivation in approaching their workload as well as in learning new interpersonal and analytical skills.
