Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking a junior and motivated web developer to design, develop, and maintain web portals that deliver an intuitive and engaging user experience. The team is responsible for developing an internally used web application, supporting the daily work of various Data operations teams within the company. The application is a python app, using the Django framework on the backend and - currently - jQuery on the frontend, that we are planning to replace with React.js. The team's most important responsibility is to implement new feature requests while also being on the lookout to improve existing processes. In addition to the development function, the team is also fully responsible for managing all application instances, from front to back, which includes deployment and all related devops functionalities as well. We are also in the process of migrating the application to a cloud native environment, leveraging the capabilities of docker and kubernetes.

 

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working together with team members / stakeholders to understand feature requests
  • Implementing basic features and functionalities based on provided business requirements and user needs
  • Writing unit tests for the backend code
  • Help developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in team meetings and code reviews
  • Maintain simple and clear documentation of code and processes
  • Update project-related documentation as needed

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Strong interest in web development and python knowledge is required, some experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, React.js, html and CSS is a plus
  • Basic understanding of database systems (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
