Your Team Responsibilities

We are looking for a sharp, energetic and organized Climate Risk Researcher to join the MSCI Climate Risk Center, a team of Climate Researchers, Financial modelers and Software Engineers. The role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to shape the future of climate-related finance. You would be a core member of a team that translates pressing environmental issues into finance-related metrics that inform the investment decisions of the world’s largest investors.

Your Key Responsibilities

· Develop tools (methodologies, models, metrics, interactive tools) to assess climate risk related to investments.

· Work on software and data science projects related to climate risks including data analysis, statistical analysis and software development

· Work closely within a cross functional team (other research team members, industry analysts, technology teams, client facings teams)

· Communicate work with internal stakeholders as well as clients, support clients with methodology and data questions.

· Follow agile development and rapid prototyping techniques.

· Anticipate problems/opportunities and adapt to new challenges.

· Write and maintain the documentation and validation of models and method.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

· Strong experience in software development in Python

· Experience in the fields of climate, environmental modelling, sustainability, data science

· Work in cross-functional teams

· Excellent communication skills

· Self-motivated, pro-active and demonstrating an exceptional drive towards delivery.

· Familiarity with general concepts of carbon accounting methodologies (Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) is desirable.
