As a Director of Engineering for AI Team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping our organization’s artificial intelligence initiatives. Your expertise will drive the development of cutting-edge AI solutions powering our Data operations and products. You will be responsible for guiding a high-performing engineering team. We are looking for a visionary leader with a strong AI technology background and supportive expertise in enterprise system design, cloud technologies, scalability, reliability, and data science.

The ideal candidate will have a track-record of building platforms for technology companies, not just applications/solutions. We prioritize candidates with a background in building reliable large-scale systems from scratch and delivering multiple successful versions over the years. The successful candidate will lead the development of our AI platform, building it to last while delivering tangible value today. This role demands close collaboration with global leaders across product, research, operations, and program management functions.

• Lead the ideation, development and implementation of the solutions leveraging AI.

• Participate in strategic business and product planning processes. Strategically plan product development efforts, including testing, release, and production needs.

• Build and nurture a high-performing team, instilling engineering rigor and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and meeting SLAs.

• Establish and reinforce good engineering practices within the team, ensuring both the "what" and the "how" of our developments align with the highest standards. Provide technical leadership, supporting the team with architecture, design, and implementation choices.

• Understand AI technologies deeply, consult the various organization functions to structure AI solutions across product lines. Work with hands-on approach, leading by example, and maintaining a high level of commitment to engineering excellence.

• Be the resident AI expert when communicating with top-level executives.

• Demonstrate the ability to make "reversible decisions" swiftly, considering technical and business trade-offs, and delivering client value iteratively.

• Possess the agility and willingness to learn and adapt quickly, staying at the forefront of emerging AI technologies. Conduct cutting-edge research and develop new ways to leverage data science. Effectively present state-of-the-art research findings, results, and benefits to senior management and team members.

• Oversee multiple projects from ideation to delivery, ensuring timely execution and a focus on impactful outcomes. Collaborate effectively with Data, Research, Program Management, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and successful outcomes.

• Foster a self-driven, can-do attitude, motivating the team to deliver results and actively removing roadblocks for them. Drive a culture of continuous learning and fast-paced innovation, empowering your team to explore and adopt recent technologies.

• 15+ years of software engineering experience. Prior senior leadership roles in product or application development and engineering for high-growth technology companies.

• High level expertise in AI, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. 8+ years’ experience in AI projects.

• Experience with at least one of the cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS. Proficiency in Python and related ecosystem for development and deployment.

• Experience in building platforms and large-scale systems, driving impactful and lasting solutions. Strong emphasis on engineering best practices and a focus on quality.

• Adaptability and willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle multiple projects, from conception to successful delivery.

• Proficiency in providing technical guidance, architecture, design, and implementation support. Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams and partners.

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related engineering field.
