Your Team Responsibilities

The function is responsible for managing the firms compliance with Privacy and Data Protection requirements, and supporting the protection of the information assets managed by the firm. The function provides support, expertise and coordination with respect to establishing and enforcing best practices as they relate to Data Protection and Privacy. Your Key Responsibilities

· Regulatory Compliance – Work with Data Privacy function, Legal and others with respect to Data Retention requirements that are specified in new and emerging regulation

· Data Retention – Help establish the policies and procedures governing retention and destruction of data. Support the data collection and analysis required to make appropriate policy and procedure recommendations. Drive the implementation of these recommendations.

· Data Asset Management – Drive the process to systematically identify and record key firm data assets. Establish and record ownership, retention rules and other key data governance information. Establish a process for maintaining this information.

· Data retention and management. This position will be responsible for working with the Chief Privacy Officer and the relevant user and technical support areas to establish global data retention schedules and policies, communicate/syndicate such schedules and policies, and ensure that such schedules and policies are executed upon. This would include structured (application) data and unstructured data firmwide. This would specifically include the following:

· Development of global data retention schedules by data type, working with functional management

· Development of policies and procedures to effect the deletion of data

· Continuous refinement of schedules and processes

· Investigation, evaluation and potential implementation of software tools and services to better manage data retention

· Coordination with functional and product areas with respect to establishing and enforcing policies

· Coordination with IT and Legal/Compliance with respect to operationalizing the policies.

· Data asset inventory and ownership. Working with the Corporate Data Protection Officer to lead the effort to identify firm data assets, to map and record ownership of these assets, and to document the retention rules and other Data Protection and Data Governance dimensions of these data assets.

· Build upon work already done as part of GDPR compliance. Work with IT to build out and operationalize a data inventory which maps record types to processes to applications to owners to retention periods.

· Work with appropriate technology areas to identify, assess and select the best tools (such as ServiceNow) for recording and managing such data assets and ownership.

· Enhancing training/Building a Culture of Data Protection. Work with Corporate Data Protection Officer to Implement needed communications and training programs with respect to data protection, data retention and data regulatory compliance.

· Coordination of relevant functions in delivery of a coherent Data Protection Strategy. Effective data protection and privacy programs will require the coordination of many functions including Legal/Compliance, IT Security and IT Infrastructure, Development, Product Management and others. This role must coordinate with all relevant functions to deliver integrated solutions.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

· Minimum 3 years relevant work experience

· Expertise and direct experience in data protection, data governance, and data retention. Experience in data privacy regulation (e.g.; GDPR) very helpful.

· Experience with tools such as OneTrust, SharePoint, and Power Automate would be useful

· While exposure to disciplines such as Legal/Compliance, Audit, and Consulting are helpful, we are looking for candidates who have strong technology backgrounds, with experience in IT Security and IT Infrastructure/DBA being especially relevant.

· Experience in a multinational corporation. Experience in financial services is a plus.

· Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)

· Strong work ethic, be a self-starter, very organized

· Experience with software supporting technology asset management (such as ServiceNow)

· Experience with implementing significant change programs requiring coordination and communication of multiple functions. Team player.
